Originally programmed in July 2015. Started with a 2d version just to implement the song. I wrote a script to store my guitar frets when i strum. I went on Guitar Hero 3 with my Xbox 360 controller and went into practice mode, just so i could strum to the notes, even though i weren't strumming them since i were on my computer. When i were designing the 3D version, first i weren't gonna make it using real 3D algorithms. I were thinking of calculating the size of the fret based on it's distance, and have it travel over a slanted line down the screen... That would work, but i just felt like being a bit more official... To add the texture to the guitar neck, i stripped an image into single horizontal strips and stored them in a list... Then i go through each tile on the neck, and using the width of the specific tile point on screen, i stretch the strip into size, and draw it along the left side of the neck... This is easier than it looks once you know how... I also added control into this game, and you can get score, and get your multiplier upto 4x, but in this video i didn't play it, cause i didn't work on it that much, so it isn't perfect.
